Engineered timber flooring has a real timber wear layer bonded to a constructed core. The natural grain and tonal variation come from timber, so individual boards will vary.
Hybrid flooring uses a printed decorative surface over a rigid manufactured core. It is designed to reproduce a timber look with more controlled visual consistency.

Choose around the room and the project priorities
Appearance is only one part of the decision. Consider the rooms, exposure to moisture, expected traffic, acoustic requirements, finished floor height and how the floor connects to tiles, cabinetry, doors and stairs.
The selected product also needs to be compatible with the substrate and its approved installation method.

Installation method changes the finished result
Many engineered timber products can be direct-stuck or floated, subject to the manufacturer's requirements and site conditions. Hybrid flooring is commonly installed as a floating floor.
A site assessment should confirm slab flatness, moisture, transitions and connected rooms before the product and installation method are finalised.
